Rodney Cheel
Gutters and Roofing Expert · Operations Manager, All Seasons Gutter Guard
With the business since 2009 · Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills

Rodney Cheel has worked at All Seasons Gutter Guard for 17 years, since 2009, and is the business’s gutters and roofing expert. As Operations Manager he runs the day-to-day operation, and he is usually the person who comes to your home to inspect your gutters and roof, measure up and quote.

What Rodney does

• Inspects and quotes. He meets homeowners, finds out what they need, and measures and quotes gutter guard, gutter replacement and roof restoration. In a busy week that means driving 400 to 800 km across Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills.
• Prepares every job. Once a job is sold he orders the stock and puts the job together for the installers, from mesh and gutter trims to screws and silicones.
• Coordinates the crews. He works alongside the gutter guard installers, the gutter crews and the roof restoration teams.
• Supplies trades and DIY customers. Tradespeople and homeowners installing their own gutter guard buy their materials through him.

Experience

Rodney joined All Seasons Gutter Guard in 2009, after 19 years in manufacturing. He did some installation work early on, learned the trade on the job and has run operations since he started. Over the years he took on inspecting and quoting jobs himself, and today he assesses gutters and roofs across Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills every week.

What Rodney checks on every quote

Rodney does not just measure for gutter guard. Before quoting he checks whether the job can be done properly and whether something else needs fixing first:

• Staining and rust at gutter joins, corners, downpipes and the fascia, the signs of leaks and overflow.
• Whether the existing gutters are worth protecting, or are rusting through and should be replaced first.
• Roof valleys, which can block and flood even when the gutters are guarded.
• Tiles and ridge caps on tiled roofs, since broken ridge caps cause leaks and need fixing before gutter guard can be fitted at the corners.
• Access for the installers, including trees and shrubs growing over the roof.
